Building social presence around an often overlooked smart home device is not easy. The Century Outlet Timer is a digital outlet timer designed to help people save time, money and energy. Because the product looks complicated to use at first glance, we needed to create content that people could easily engage with and understand the product’s benefits.
We connected Century to the right audience on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter by successfully launching Social Activation campaigns and encouraging user-generated content. We created clickable, shareable content that showed the product in minimalist environments. By using Century Timer on ordinary appliances, we were able to highlight its simplicity and everyday use. We incorporated beautiful interiors and lightning setups to give audiences creative DIY ideas and solutions. The results were reflected in the number of retweets, shares, comments, likes and views.
